When Al Budd began racing in 2002, only a few short years ago, he never imagined what Al Budd Racing would become. Al started out as a driver, competing in his INEX legend car, almost completely on his own, with only his family and a few friends to help out, Al fell in love with the sport. In 2004 Al purchased and drove a Late Model at the Bullring. Al drove in the Late Model Division for two years as a driver in the class. As Al Budd continued in and around the racing scene at the bullring, he saw a need for some of the younger talent, the future of the sport he loves, to promote and support them along, to hone their skills, and to someday become champions. Al has temporarily hung up his driving gloves and is now in pursuit of a national championship winning season as a car owner, with the help of his crew and some extremely talented up and coming drivers, who are enrolled in Al Budd Racing’s, West Coast Driver Development program, Al Budd May just get that championship in 2008 which has narrally eluded him the past two years and who knows maybe one of those young men driving for Al Budd Racing will be a future NASCAR Sprint Cup Driver.
Al Budd “Our main goal for a West Coast Driver Development program on a local level is to try to bring young talent to Las Vegas as inexpensive as possible. There is a great need for a program like this on the west coast because most drivers have been forced to go back east to showcase any talent they may have, at much greater expense, with no guarantee’s that they’ll have a ride.”
Presently in our stable we have two Super Late Models which have acumulated more than 15 wins from 2005 through 2007, one of which is available to rent in 2008 and includes a car which as a Late Model, broke the track record in Blythe, CA. Feb 3rd 2007, as well a new Thunder Roadster.
