#17 Justin Johnson

5-15-07 Updated Wow what an exciting year Justin is having driving the Al Budd Racing #17 Super Late Model if your keeping up with the news you'll see that Justin has won an unprecedented 5 of 7 races at the Bullring for the 2007 season, couple that with last years record and Justin has finished #1 in 14 out of his last 26 races he has competed in.  Justin has 13 races left in the 2007 race season and is the current track championship points leader with 264 points, 46 points in front of Dustin Ash 2nd and 84 points in front of Scotti Gafforini, last years points champion. Justin Johnson is only 21 years old, but he has been driving race cars since he was only 13, Justin has accumulated more wins and has accomplished more in his few short years in auto racing than most drivers could hope for in a lifetime.  Al Budd saw Justin’s potential and in 2005 decided to put Justin in a race car near the end of the 2005 Bullring season, and with that, Al Budd Racing’s West Coast Driver Development Program was underway.  Al Budd Racing welcomes back Justin Johnson for another exciting year of racing in the 2007 Bullring season.  Justin returns to us after competing in an exciting and hugely successful 2006 season.  Having won seven main events during the regular season, more than any other driver, Justin placed 2nd in Bullring track championship points, just one point behind.  This was the closest margin of victory in Bullring history.  Justin successfully defended his 2005 Late Model Open Comp title, by returning the following year to become the 2006 Super Late Model Open Comp Champion.   Justin has already started a successful 2007 season by setting a track record at Lucas Oil I-10 Speedway in Blythe California and he went on to win the main event by over 20 car lengths.  Since Justin joined Al Budd Racing he has accumulated 10 victories including two Open Comps.  Justin will continue through this year to drive the #17 Al Budd Racing, Super Late Model, so come out and watch Justin and be a part of the Orange Crush Pumpkin Patch as a fan.  If you or anyone you know is interested in supporting Justin through sponsorship, please contact us as corporate and private sponsorships are still available for Justin's race car.
